Quick recap to catch up where I am at.
Still 100% raw. Still struggling with my digestion, too much bloating and discomfort that is frustrating me.
Yesterday I finally decided I had enough with the swollen stomach pregnancy look, so I pondered for awhile my choices. One thing I did know for sure, fruit was going to be eliminated from the equation all together. I could stay raw with just veggies only, which I seriously struggled with at the start of this challenge. I could start adding back in some cooked proteins to my raw veggies and end the 100% raw challenge essentially. Another idea popped up on a forum, I could add in more raw proteins and stay raw, but more a Paleo version.
Ending my raw trial really does not appeal to me yet. While I am having some problems with digestion, and also with some focus mentally, I want to stick this trial out for a little longer.
I think the raw veggies with raw protiens is the direction I am heading.
Yesterday I finished off the last of the fruit in the house that my husband wouldn’t eat, and I ate a few pieces of raw fish for dinner (which hasn’t been unusual for me, and I am growing fond of actually). This morning, I prepared my standard green smoothie, my green juice for the day, and some veggies to munch on at work. I also ate a single raw egg. I couldn’t figure out how to eat it, as I wanted to see my reaction by itself with neutral foods, but I couldn’t find any neutral foods I trusted or wanted to ‘mix’ with a raw egg. So I ended up just downing the egg Rocky style, mmmm. Well, actually it wasn’t too bad. In the future I hope to make a shake with it, mixed with coconut oil, water, maybe some stevia. Coconut oil though at this phase will cause a die off reaction for me, so I will slowly add that in over the next week.
No serious reactions to the egg as of yet, I did test mildly allergic to them over a year ago, and have avoided them since that time. Guess now is as good a time as any to test my reaction.
I need to do some serious research on how I should go about eating more raw meats. Fish is good, but expensive, and I do not want to eat that many eggs yet as I am reintroducing them to my diet. Right now the thought of eating most raw meats doesn’t sound overly appealing on their own. I have eaten things like steak tartar before, but that was on toast with lots of other items mixed in. Will have to do some research on that this evening.
In the meantime, I am still raw, and I really really want to stick this out for at least the 30 days. If the raw proteins go well, I may go a little longer to better be able to judge the diet down that path.
