Day 13 through 19 – Balance II

April 18, 2009

Another week done, and still progressing. Not to the level I had originally planned, but I am happy with my progress this week on many levels.

Wake up on time - I managed to get up at 4:30, four out of 5 work days last week.  The one day I did not, I was home, and still managed to get up by 5:30.  Of the 7 days, five of them I met my challenge goals in general.  Last weekend I caught up a bit on some sleep, but by Monday my motivation was high, and I have kicked bum since then.

Daily ‘tasks’ – Of the 7 days in question, i did very well.  I missed my supplements twice I believe, and that was when my schedule changed and I was a bit out of sync.  Of the other daily small tasks, I have been flowing VERY well with them, and am finding they are become much more second nature.  I will still keep track, but I suspect by my next 30 day, I will not have to pay as much attention to them.

Pet Time - One of the felines was sick this week, so I did not work with him, although he did get a lot more attention in the food and hydration department.  Conversely, I spent extra time with Dexter who has a tendency to go after another cat when they are not feeling well.  He had extra time one on one, and I used a treat box almost daily.  Still spending time, not religiously, but definitely more conscious about it.

Website work – I worked on the website much more this week, spending time every evening on something.  I caught up a lot last weekend, and have since spent time on some outlines and goals for the site.  The path is becoming clearer, now I just need to put in the time to make it a reality.

Meditation – I managed to get in a couple good meditations in the last 7 days, but definitely not meeting the daily goal.  While I have been getting up at 4:30, instead of meditating, I have gone into work early.  This has done me well, and I am reluctant to cut some of my morning time out with meditation only because getting to work early is going well.  I will keep trying it as it is now, see if I can get the meditation in more on an evening schedule, keep getting to work extra early, and evaluate when this challenge is over.

Hometime/cooking – I have done well on packing my lunch nightly, and cooking more.  I stocked up at the store midweek, and have spent part of today cooking, packaging, and in general prepping food for large meals.  Nothing special  here, more conscious, and know that I will include more home time in my next challenge or two.

As you can see, I have gone off the daily udpates.  The way things have gone this round, I have decided to focus my energy elsewhere when it comes to my hometime.  My website needs a ton of work, and if I have 30 minutes or an hour each night available, I need to make use of it on the technical development more then I need it on my 30 day journal this round.
