So I mentioned yesterday that I was starting a new challenge with the beginning of the new year. A serious challenge it looks like it shall be, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
It has become very evident that if a challenge does not seriously push me, I am very likely to get bored and fade quickly. There is no two ways about it. I also need to be in the right mindset for this to work as well, which seems to be something I am still a bit inconsistent at.
Part of my challenge is posting daily on all three of my websites. Its about 20 minutes before my normal bed time, and I am currently cranking out the last few items on my checklist as I just ran out of time today. With projects going on around the house, and a visit to the family for a bit, I had to race home and finish my second article of the day while I chowed down a late dinner. Here I am wrapping up my third and final post of the day on Emeadow.com, and still have 4 or 5 more items to complete. It shall be a later night then usual, but I am not tired at all.
So in light of my dwindling time of the day, I will keep this short and sweet.
I am super excited to be pumped about a challenge again, that is for sure. Its hard to describe, after two months off work (Happy 2 month ‘quitting the cubicle’ anniversary to me), I finally feel like my head is emerging from the clouds. It is time to start cranking. This feeling has been missing for about 6 months now, and it is great to have it back. Its a fire, where even though I see a lot of things to do before the day is out, I am excited to go get them done! When I am not fired up, the feeling is usually a list of excuses, why I don’t want to complete them, why I shouldn’t, ect.
Essentially, when the fire is dead, my procrastination talent rules. When the fire is alive, everything falls to the side of my tasks I set in front of me.
Off I go to finish my checklist. For more comprehensive posts, check out my other sites at Nourished Meadow (for food and such), and Pet Meadow (for pet ramblings of course).
