Collage For Money

May 24, 2010

When was the last time you put together a collage? You know, where you cut out pictures or words from magazines and such and paste them on a piece of paper to convey something?

Apparently its been awhile for me. Like maybe middle school. I have created some ‘vision boards’, but most of that has been online, and in my own super organized format rather then the usual haphazard collage effect.

Well, tomorrow I am participating in a market research study. Very odd for me, but a friend recommended it months back as a way to earn a few dollars. I happened to fill out one of their emails the other day, and suddenly I am about to go earn 175 buckaroos for about 90 minutes of my time. Well, plus about an hour I spent on the ‘collage’. Not bad, it will get me a couple items I want for the deck out back and since I am a bit of a poor under-guided soul at the moment. d

I had to create a collage to bring to my research study. I also had to answer a random question about what super power would I have if I could have one. This has gone from what looked like a market study on dietary supplements to a psych evaluation apparently. I am a tish bit worried about what I will find tomorrow. It might be because I saw the movie The Killing Room……..

Lol…well, I guess I better go get a good nights sleep so I am bright and alert for whatever this odd situation might toss at me. This could get interesting.

Updates Updates….

May 23, 2010

First stop, YES, I missed another post this week!! Yup, totally missed it!

I could make an excuse, YES, I did get tied up helping a friend, BUT, I opted to do other things when I returned home, not necessarily write posts on my websites. So I did have time, I just chose to do something other then write. I had my reasons.

Nuf said about that.

This has been a busy week! I feel like I have moved into ‘GO’ mode, and I am NOT complaining. That procrastinating issue I mentioned earlier….still going on. Its still sort of freaking me out……but not going to rock the boat.

I have been in supper de-clutter mode, STILL. Pretty sure I have finished with the basement and now am going to move to the office. The office is my dumping ground, so I have work to do in there. I actually did get rid of some books and a few other things about a month ago, but it still needs some organization work. I am going with the non procrastinating flow and working it over next.

Weather is warming up, FINALLY got to do some work outside. I am finding that I want to improve my work environments as of late, and since my home is my work environment, it is getting spiffed up bit by bit. I have never really used the back porch for much, but now that I am home all day, I am craving getting out in the sun every day, working with my plants, and reading on the porch. So spiffed up it shall get. Power washed everything today, shopping around for some additional furniture, and have a few more garden plants to look around for.

Yes, I lead a super exciting life, eh?

Something has me fired up this week. Do not know if it is the sun and warmth coming out, my food changes, my productivity, or what. I guess I will just take it and run with it!

Yes, this is a boring post, but I need to write something….so here is your ’sumthing’.

As busy minded as I have been, I still need some rest though….have a meeting early in the morning. So time to turn the brain off.

Boring post over. Night

So I have been wanting a bird feeder for the yard for quite awhile. I want to see the birds outside my window chirping and doing birdie things, and I want my crazy cats to bonk their heads on the glass when they go barreling towards them. Its a simple vision really.

I have held off from getting said bird feeder though because frankly, I am not in the mood for the gigantic mess bird feeders make, I already have enough things I avoid cleaning as it is. Or the squirrels it would attract that cause one of my husbands dogs to lose whats left of his aging mind.

So I had the BRILLIANT idea that I would instead get a hummingbird feeder. No squirrels, no dogs freaking out, but still seizuring cats and cute things to watch out the window. Sounds like a problem solved to me!!

I toddled over to the local big box hardware store, located the hummingbird feeders (on a shelf 10 feet off the ground of course)……located a handy step ladder with 5 million warnings posted on it……wheeled it over (which I think violated about 4.9 million of those warnings), fetched me a new feeder and a box of hummingbird kool aid.

I located a spot on the porch outside a window where I could sit and work and watch out for the spastic birds to show up. I managed to install a hook in the overhang even though it required the use of a drill and a bit of brute strength….but the kicker, I actually managed to PUT the drill and supplies AWAY!! My husband will be so proud.

I filled my feeder up with nuclear colored water, hung it outside my window, and sat.

I have been sitting here for 3 days now and have not seen a single hummingbird (I know they are around…..I might be clueless sometimes but I did not hang up a feeder for non existent creatures). Fine, I get it, I need to go somewhere for them to actually show up. So I left my bird watching post and went shopping for two hours.

When I returned, the wind had kicked up to like 300 mph and my hair was a disaster but I actually had clothes, so all was right with the world. I glanced out the window upon my return only to see that 3/4 of the radioactive water was gone. Hrmmm, yes, I was pretty sure it was full when I left. This is not a good sign seeing as I have never noticed a 200lb hummingbird with a glandular problem wandering the neighborhood.

Don’t you love when the Universe reminds you that you have things to get done? I have been putting off powerwashing the deck, back of the house, and cleaning the outside windows for weeks now. I have a valid excuse…..I would prefer the temperature be over 65 degrees before I start flinging water around…call me crazy….housecleaning should not involve dry suits.

So, thank you Universe. Thank you for reminding me of what I should do this weekend now that it is warm. Appreciate it…

Can you remind me next time when it does NOT include spreading sticky red dye all over the side of my house, windows, railings, and deck? Pretty please? K….thanks!

Someone is messing with my procrastination skills!

May 18, 2010

I have had a very odd side effect over the last week or so that I am a bit perplexed over. I also do not want to spend too much time thinking about it as I might scare it away.
I have not been procrastinating NEARLY as much as I usually do. [...]

May 17, 2010

If you ever want free therapy sessions, de-clutter your home. Seriously, its like a wonder drug.

Survivor Grumbling

May 16, 2010

Let me start this by saying that there is only one TV show I keep up with. ONE. I have a couple interests I tune into now and again, but all of them I could take it or leave it. I have done several media fasts now, and the ONLY limitation I [...]

Working From Home Time Balance

May 14, 2010

There is an issue coming up over and over for me that I did not realize I would face. Its obvious now that I look at it, but I did not even really consider it much when I quit my job and began ‘working’ from home.
The act of balancing my work time versus my ‘home’ [...]

Go Away Cold

May 13, 2010

I am usually someone who enjoys a bit of chilly weather over hot and humid summers, but I have to admit, I am ready for some warmth.
I took these of some blooming plants (finally) in the front yard about two days ago.

Then I took this shot this morning.

Grrrr. [...]
